Where Are They Now? Lila (Bond) Towle

Lila (Bond) Towle – Berkshire Christian College, Class of 1962

Tell us about yourself?

I attended Berkshire Christian College 1958-1962 and was in the first class at the Berkshire Campus. After graduation, I continued education at Central Connecticut State College and became a teacher. I taught for seven years and then subbed after my children entered school. I also worked as an activity assistant in a long-care facility.

I was marrried Kenneth Towle (Who passed away in 2016), we have 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. I am retired and live with my daughter and son-in-law. I keep busy with family, hobbies, daily activities, and have many great Christian friends to associate with.

What are your favorite memories from your time at BCC?

My favorite memories are the many friendships, some still active today, The Wise, spirit-filled teachers, a loving president (Ariel Ainsworth), and his wife. I particularly remember one special teacher – Dr. James Nichols – I felt so privileged to be instructed by him.

I remember many favorite classes, my Christian Education and Bible classes, Romans class with Coach J. I loved Choir and a summer trip to the west coast with a mixed quartet.

How have you seen the Lord use your training?

I’ve had the privilege to serve as a youth leader, camp counselor, Sunday school teacher & superintendent, choir member, and most recently as a facilitator for a ladies life group.

What excites you most about your relationship with Christ today?

I can still study God’s word and still learn new things He has for me. His mercies are new every morning!

Thank you for the Interview Lila!
