Tell us a bit about yourself:

I’m married to my best friend. We have 3 kids this side of the veil and a daughter in heaven. I work part-time as an RN. In my “free time”, I homeschool our kids.

I have a desire to grow my knowledge of the Bible and deepen my relationship with Jesus. I also want to be better equipped to disciple our kids.

What prompted you to join MTI?

I have a desire to grow my knowledge of the Bible and deepen my relationship with Jesus. I also want to be better equipped to disciple our kids.

What is something you’ve learned through MTI?

I’ve learned what it means to be members of God’s Kingdom, which feels even more necessary during this time, where we’re all trying to live through a pandemic and chaos around us.

What has been your favorite memory of the program so far?

Spending time with my husband (who is also going through the program) discussing and working together on something so meaningful.

How has the Lord used your training so far?

I already feel more balanced and grounded and have enjoyed my studies thus far.

What is a resource you’d recommend (Book, video, podcast, etc) that you learned about through MTI; how has it helped you?

The book, The Life and Teaching of Jesus by James Stewart was so helpful to me, as I try to teach our kids. It helped me, to read about Jesus as a teacher and his approach. I desire to be more patient and like Him in my own teaching of our kids. I also really enjoyed Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. His writing about the true community in Christ and what that should look like is inspiring and thought-provoking!

What would you consider telling someone who is considering joining or supporting MTI?

The Lord will only bless your time and energy in doing so. You don’t need to be seeking full-time ministry. A desire to grow in Christ is all that’s needed.

What is a simple joy of yours?

Time outside. It always makes me feel closer to God.

Thank you for the interview, Ashley!
