All About Sandra

I was from Maine having lived at both ends of the state. I am fourth generation Advent Christian so there was little question where I would go to school. I am widowed after 53 years of marriage to Irwin Nichols. I met him at BCC when I was a Junior and he came as a Freshman. My daughter and granddaughter joined me in moving to Charlton almost 4 years ago, so that we could be together.

What are your favorite Memories of BCC?

I loved the campus and found the surroundings inspiring. I enjoyed getting to know people from all parts of the country. It was great that the school was small enough to get to be friends with upper and lower classmates.

What have you been up to since graduation?

Upon getting married 2 months after graduation I moved to central Mass. and joined the Worcester AC Church. Irwin and I had 2 children, a girl and a boy and also 3 grandchildren. I was a stay-at-home mom for most of the early years and later worked 17 years for a Nuclear Power company in the office. Since retiring at 59 I have enjoyed being home. For the last few months, I have been helping with organizing the files at the BCC office.

How has the Lord used your training?

Right after marriage I attempted teaching a Jr. Hi. Sunday School class, it was a dismal failure. I soon was asked to be church clerk, which I did for 19 years. I was asked to take over a women’s SS class that had been taught for years by an elderly lady who was loved by all. No one in the class was my age. I just quit teaching this past spring. My favorite was teaching directly from the Bible. Thanks to Rina Brown I was quite familiar with the Old Testament.

What most excites you about your relationship with Christ today?

I am just so thankful Christ has been with me all these years and I look forward to meeting Him soon.
