Student Spotlight: Dee Belvin

Dee Belvin – Ministry Training Institute (MTI)

Dee’s home church is North Side Community Church, and she is in her second year in the Eastern North Carolina cohort. Read more to learn about Dee and how the Lord has used her MTI training!

Tell us a bit about yourself:

I’m married and have 3 boys. I am bi-vocational as I work at Northside Community Church as the Pastor to Children and caring for our 3 boys when they’re not in school. I enjoy working out or reading a good book when I’m not busy with work or family.

What prompted you to join MTI?

I wanted more theological training to be better equipped to teach children in ministry.

What is something you’ve learned through MTI?

I’ve learned more about how the Bible fits together as a whole. I’ve also learned to appreciate different theology from my own and to examine what I believe and why I believe it.

What has been your favorite memory of the program so far?

I have really enjoyed the dialogue we have when we meet for our symposiums.

How has the Lord used your training so far?

MTI has reminded me how little I know and how big God is.

What would you consider telling someone who is considering joining or supporting MTI?

Definitely give MTI a try! It’s worth the investment to further your education and theological perspective. It’s the right balance between learning and growing while still having a job and family.

What is a simple joy of yours?

Curling up with a good book!

Thank you for the interview, Dee!
