This course explores God’s Story as revealed in the life of Jesus Christ, the world in which he carried out His ministry, the body of believers who carried on His work, the Apostles and the early church, and what can be anticipated in the future. This examination will provide an understanding of the principles of biblical interpretation and major elements of the New Testament. Gaining an understanding of Jesus’ narrative as told through the Gospels, the history of the birth and growth of the first century Christian Church in the Acts of the Apostles, the letters of Paul, the General Letters, and the visions and letters of the Book of Revelation serves as a focus of this course. Students will gain an appreciation and understanding of the Good News and its implications for individuals, the Church and the world.
