Established in 1991 the Berkshire Professorship at
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary has assured Advent Christians an important voice in the
development of American Evangelicalism. Originally held by Dr. David
Dean Th.D., this chair is now filled by
Dr. Gordon Isaac Ph.D. who continues
the outstanding work of bringing Advent Christian theology to student
training and scholarship.
This Chair also oversees the rare and historic Adventual Collection
comprised of publications, personal ledgers, colored charts, and Americana
documenting the
Adventual movement's inception and development. Housed at Gordon-Conwell, it
provides an important link to Advent Christian
thought and theological growth.
Also this Chair oversees Advent Christian students enrolled at Gordon-Conwell
Theological
Seminary providing them with scholarships (up to fifty percent of
their academic tuition)
and encouraging the students to serve in
Advent Christian ministries upon graduation.
